If you do a Google search for American English, you will read that they are the undisputed best Beatles tribute band in the land. I have to agree with that. If I were to compare them to the musicians playing the Beatles in the touring musical Rain, I would definitely give my vote to American English!
All the Elton John fans really enjoyed the Elton Jeff & the Honky Cats concert at Theatre at the Center. I enjoy Elton John’s music in small doses so even though the costumes were sparkly and the music upbeat, it was a bit much for me.
The band Gone to Paradise pays tribute to Jimmy Buffet and his Coral Reefer Band, clearly embracing the laid-back island vibe! As a Parrothead from way back, I can honestly say that their concert at Theatre at the Center was almost as much fun as an actual Jimmy Buffet concert – and I saw many of those!
Although it’s not my favorite sound, I did enjoy Midwest Big Band presents “The Sounds of Sinatra and the Unforgettable Ladies of Song” at Theatre at the Center. My friend Helen, on the other hand, absolutely loved the show.
**** Highly Recommended If MOMIX Alice returns to Chicago in the future, run don’t walk to the box office for tickets! Yes, it’s that good! Think psychedelic Cirque du Soleil meets Alice in Wonderland meets Grace Slick, if you can imagine that. If not, you’ll have to see it yourself! 4 BIG Spotlights
I had a toe-tapping good time at a Creole Stomp concert at Theatre at the Center. I’d seen one of their shows in 2019 and loved it, so I jumped on the chance to see them again. The concert felt a little like going to a party on the bayou.
I had a wonderful time at Tyler Christopher’s Tribute Concert to Elvis at Theatre at the Center. Tyler Christopher is the real deal – with a voice that comes as close to Elvis’s as any I’ve heard.
March 1, 2024 || Monster Jam – Rosemont || The review crew and I enjoyed a fuel filled evening at Monster Jam.
Last night we finally made it to see Disney On Ice: Magic In The Stars. The show was sold out and I understand why! It has been a few years since our last Disney On Ice event. It has always been magical, and it still was magical last night. The evening’s review crew was myself and my younger two, ages 6 and 8. Mickey and his crew lead us on a journey through the stars visiting classic Disney favorites and current hit sensations.
On January 10, 2024, my husband and I attended the Discover Boating, Beach Club, Opening Night VIP Party at The Chicago Boat Show at McCormick Place. We have been going to the Boat Show for years. It was a lot of fun to attend the inaugural VIP Party. We had such a good time at the party, we did not get to see much of the show. We went back later that weekend with our children and family friends to enjoy the show more.
