Monster Jam is mine and my kids’ favorite event, we love going. The review crew and I have aged up a bit, we were looking back at pictures when I realized a hand-me down from my now 14-year-old returned to the most recent event with my middle, now 9. Look how they have grown.
Fans of folk-rock group Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young were transported back to the late 60s by the Marrakesh Express tribute band on March 8 at Theatre at the Center.
Theatre at the Center was rocking on February 22nd, with Heartless bringing the heavy metal sound of Heart to the stage. The high energy concert featured Lynn Lupo as Heart’s lead singer, Ann Wilson, Julie Bittner as Heart’s rhythm guitarist and back-up vocalist, Nancy Wilson.
I attended Forever Simon & Garfunkel: A Tribute sponsored by Lakeshore Community Concerts, at Highland High School Auditorium on January 27th. The concert, featuring Sean Altman and Jack Skuller, was entertaining and fun.
Theatre at the Center concert audience fans of Carole King were treated to some favorite hit songs on Sunday, January 26th.
I attended the November 1st Echoes of Pompeii: A Pink Floyd Tribute concert at Theatre at the Center. This is a really good band, they played a really good concert, the only problem – I forgot how much I don’t like Pink Floyd so this wasn’t my favorite concert.
On Sunday, August 18th, I attended A Tribute to Simon & Garfunkel at Theatre at the Center. The concert was presented by Al Swearingen & Jayne Kelli, a married couple currently living in Nashville.
This is Monster Jam! Our favorite trucks, Grave Digger (Winston), El Toro Loco (Me) and ANY girl driver (Maeve) put on an amazing show for us. The evening was filled with tons of energy.
A Reba McEntire Tribute, starring Corrie Sachs, was a hit at Theatre at the Center on Sunday, July 14.
A standing ovation followed The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster on Friday, June 28, starring Mike Fornes, who took the audience back to the 1960s through the 1980s.
