The Gary SouthShore RailCats, who were on a seven-game losing streak, got set for a three-o’clock game against the Chicago Dogs. The Dogs, who outscored the ‘Cats 28-8 in the first two games, were playing for the sweep, while the RailCats attempted to salvage at least one game.
Chicago Fire FC II (8-6-6-5, 35 points) fell 4-3 against New York Red Bulls II (8-8-4-3, 31 points) on Sunday evening at MSU Soccer Park in Montclair, N.J.
Chicago captain David Poreba scored twice, adding to his league-leading tally of 14 goals, and Chicago Fire II All-Star Vitaly Hlyut scored his first goal of the MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Chicago Fire II currently stands in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, just one point behind Columbus Crew 2.

**** Recommended Dunes Summer Theater’s production of "The Bridges of Madison County", is a beautiful show, a love story that will move you to tears. Don’t that worry you though, it’s not at all a cloyingly schmaltzy chick-flick kind of musical. I can’t quite figure out why it wasn’t more successful on Broadway (only 137 performances). The score is magnificent, with elements of the blues, folk, twangy bluegrass, country, pop and opera. The talented cast, particularly the leads, Kristianna Dilworth and Max DeTogne, does full justice to the amazing score. 4 Spotlights

The RailCats announced earlier today that they have signed former first-round pick, Ethan Hankins to the roster. Hankins is a right-handed starting pitcher from Atlanta, Georgia that was selected 35th overall by the Cleveland Guardians organization in 2018.
With the dark clouds overhead and the series coming to an end, the Gary SouthShore RailCats looked to salvage a win on the road against the Lake Country DockHounds.
