The pure sounds of Wilson Phillips were in the spotlight recently at Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan.
Wilson Phillips, a trio which formed in the late 1980s, proves to be at the top of their vocal game in concert. The group is made up of the offspring of some of the music world's greatest figures. Wilson Phillips stars Carnie and Wendy Wilson, daughters of the iconic Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys and Chynna Phillips, daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and The Papas.
Fans at the Four Winds’ show were in for a treat with this live performance. Wilson Phillips definitely lit up the stage with their gorgeous harmonies, charming stage personalities and fun storytelling.

The Wilsons and Chynna have been friends since childhood and their easy rapport is apparent on stage. Carnie Wilson proved particularly humorous throughout the show and the others would chime in with various witty comments.
The group offered up a perfect blend of their hits, covers from other groups and also delivered a few songs from The Beach Boys and The Mamas and The Papas catalogs as a tribute to their famous parents. Prior to performing a heartfelt version of “God Only Knows,” Carnie mentioned that "Daddy died eight weeks ago,” (referring to Brian Wilson’s recent death) and added how special that song has been to her and others. “Paul McCartney said that was his favorite song…And it’s probably my favorite Beach Boys song,” Carnie said. She also paid homage to her uncle Carl Wilson who she said sang “God Only Knows” like an “angel.”
Among tunes on the concert roster were “Release Me,” Elton John’s “Daniel,” “Impulsive,” “You Won’t See Me Cry,” “Dancing Queen” and more. Wilson Phillips’ tribute to their parents included the tunes “California Dreamin’” and “Dedicated to the One I Love.”
Another highlight was a nod to girl groups as they performed a variety of tunes including “Walk Like An Egyptian,” “You’ve Got the Beat” and “Waterfalls.” They ended their concert with the always encouraging and hopeful song “Hold On.”
