Miami Correctional Facility (MCF) promoted Derek Boyan to the rank of Major on April 19, 2020. Major Derek Boyan brings nineteen years of correctional experience to his new position.

On April 29th, Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced the state is partnering with Maximus to centralize contact tracing and investigations for Hoosiers who test positive for COVID-19. This move, in tandem with a previously announced partnership with Optum to significantly expand testing across the state, is an essential component of efforts to safely reopen Indiana.

Recently Sam’s Club of Kokomo donated 600 hotdogs, buns, bags of chips and condiments to the staff at Miami Correctional Facility (MCF). Store Manger Patty Mitchell stated, “We are glad to do it; we have to be here for each other right now.”
