Towle Theater announces the cast of Towle Youth Theater Ensemble Production of “Peter Pan”


Towle Theater is excited to announce they have officially cast their Towle Youth Theater Ensemble’s (or TYTE) production of J.M. Barrie’s 1904 play “Peter Pan.” This cast comes from all over Northwest Indiana, Illinois, and Chicago. This cast features young actors from as far north as Chicago’s East Side and as far south as Fair Oaks, Indiana. This long-standing program is ensemble based and offers young people the opportunity to not just be in a play or musical but be involved in all aspects of production.



Broadway In Chicago is delighted to announce there will be a digital lottery and rush tickets for FRIENDS! The Musical Parody, which will play for a limited engagement at Broadway In Chicago’s Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut) from February 12 through March 3, 2019.

Donterrio Johnson to direct BUYER & CELLAR for Pride Films and Plays

Pride Films and Plays will mount Jonathan Tolin’s one-man play BUYER & CELLAR in the Broadway Theater of the Pride Arts Center, according to the company’s Executive Director David Zak. The production will be directed by Chicago-based Donterrio Johnson, whose many acting credits include his Jeff Award-winning Judas Iscariot in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR for Theo Ubique and most recently, his role as the Leading Player in Mercury Theater’s production of PIPPIN. Johnson has also performed as an actor with Pride Films and Plays, in productions including UNDER A RAINBOW FLAG.

Emerald City Theatre Announces Casting for Corduroy "A bear. A button. A place to belong."


Emerald City Theatre (ECT) Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone announced casting today for the Chicago premiere of Corduroy, opening March 3 at the Athenaeum Theatre in Lakeview. Corduroy is based on the books by Don Freeman, adapted for the stage by Barry Kornhauser, and directed by ECT Artistic Associate Jamal Howard.



The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival is proud to reveal its 2019 season, featuring the return of perennial audience favorites as well as an exciting new focus on community events, culminating in a new exhibit at The History Museum in South Bend. The 2019 NDSF season will include Shakespeare After Hours (July 19, 2019), ShakeScenes (July 20, 2019), and Shakespeare in Fremont Park (July 25-26, 2019). The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival’s Touring and Professional Companies will return in the summer of 2020, as part of the upcoming 20th anniversary celebration of the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival.

Chicago-Based Director Sydney Chatman Named 2019 Michael Maggio Fellow at Goodman Theatre

Goodman Theatre announces Sydney Chatman as the recipient of the 2019 Michael Maggio Directing Fellowship, an honor reserved for early-career Chicago-based directors. Chatman will gain complete access to the artistic process at the Goodman—from early research and design through the casting and rehearsal process to the opening night. The annual fellowship was established in 2002 to honor the memory and artistry of Goodman Associate Artistic Director Michael Maggio (1951 – 2000) who directed a total of 22 productions at the Goodman and more than 60 productions around the country.

RAIN - A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES will play Broadway In Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph) for just two performances on April 14, 2019.
