Irving Berlin’s White Christmas – The Musical, the iconic holiday favorite, Million Dollar Quartet, hailing Elvis, Johnny Cash and other recording icons, and The Pajama Game, the Tony Award classic musical, are among the 2019 Season show favorites announced by Linda Fortunato, artistic director at Theatre at the Center (TATC), the only professional theater company in Northwest Indiana.

Pride Films and Plays presents HOLDING THE MAN


HOLDING THE MAN, a drama from Australia chronicling the 15-year relationship of a real-life gay male couple, based on Timothy Conigrave’s celebrated memoir of the same name opens Monday, August 6 at 7:30 pm in the Broadway, Pride Arts Center, 4139 N. Broadway. In 1976, Tim and John meet as teenagers at their all-boys Catholic school in Melbourne and become boyfriends. The story follows them into adulthood as their relationship endures in spite of such obstacles as parental resistance, differing views on monogamy, separation, and finally HIV.

Victory Gardens announces season casting


Victory Gardens Theater under the direction of Artistic Director Chay Yew and Managing Director Erica Daniels, announces casting for its upcoming productions of Indecent by Paula Vogel, directed by Gary Griffin, Rightlynd by Ike Holter, directed by Lisa Portes, Pipeline by Dominique Morisseau, directed by Cheryl Lynn Bruce, and Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee, directed by Marti Lyons. The cast for Miriam for President by Madhuri Shekar, directed by Chay Yew, is yet to be announced.

Cast announced for ARMS AND THE MAN, opening September 16


Full casting was announced today for City Lit’s season opener, George Bernard Shaw’s comedy ARMS AND THE MAN. Set during the 1885 Serbo-Bulgarian war, it satirizes the folly of armed conflict. City Lit’s production will be directed by Brian Pastor, Artistic Director of Promethean Theatre Ensemble and director of City Lit’s fall 2017 production of J.B.



Calling all aspiring Tiny Tims! Goodman Theatre announces open call auditions on Saturday, September 8, from 9am – 2pm for six of the young performer roles in A Christmas Carol—now in its 41st year. Chicagoland actors from ages 5 - 17 are invited to audition for the roles of Tiny Tim, Boy Scrooge, Peter Crachit, Emily Cratchit, Belinda Cratchit and Turkey Child.

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the national tour of COME FROM AWAY, a new musical about the true story of the small town that welcomed the world, will make its Chicago debut at Broadway In Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph) for a limited engagement July 30 through August 18, 2019. COME FROM AWAY will be part of Broadway In Chicago’s upcoming season. Subscriptions will go on sale in the fall of 2018.
