“A bear. A button. A place to belong.” A small bear’s quest for a missing button leads to the friendship of a lifetime. The department store comes to life with circus elements and physical comedy as Corduroy must stay a step ahead of the Night Watchman to be ready for Lisa when she returns to the store. Learn the importance of empathy and unconditional love along with a young girl and her mother in this sweet adaptation of the beloved book by Don Freeman.

Lifeline Theatre’s KidSeries presents the world premiere of The Time Warp Trio, based on the children’s series by Jon Scieszka, Illustrated by Lane Smith, with adaptation by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Frances Limoncelli, and directed by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Heather Currie. When Joe receives a magical book for his birthday, he and his pals are unexpectedly hurled across time and space. They first arrive in Camelot, a land menaced by an evil knight, a terrible giant, and a fire-breathing dragon. With quick thinking and a dash of courage the newly formed “Time Warp Trio” manages to survive, but the mysterious Book soon thrusts them into further adventures – each more challenging than the last! Save the day with wit and bravery in this adaptation of stories from Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith’s Time Warp Trio series. This production is recommended for children ages five and up and runs approximately one hour with no intermission.

Towle Theater has announced the re-launch of its classic youth workshop, “A Star in the Works” but with a new twist. The first workshop will take place on Tuesday, March 26th from 9 AM to 12 PM and open to ages 12-18.

Towle Theater announces the cast of Towle Youth Theater Ensemble Production of “Peter Pan”

Towle Theater is excited to announce they have officially cast their Towle Youth Theater Ensemble’s (or TYTE) production of J.M. Barrie’s 1904 play “Peter Pan.” This cast comes from all over Northwest Indiana, Illinois, and Chicago. This cast features young actors from as far north as Chicago’s East Side and as far south as Fair Oaks, Indiana. This long-standing program is ensemble based and offers young people the opportunity to not just be in a play or musical but be involved in all aspects of production.

Donterrio Johnson to direct BUYER & CELLAR for Pride Films and Plays

Pride Films and Plays will mount Jonathan Tolin’s one-man play BUYER & CELLAR in the Broadway Theater of the Pride Arts Center, according to the company’s Executive Director David Zak. The production will be directed by Chicago-based Donterrio Johnson, whose many acting credits include his Jeff Award-winning Judas Iscariot in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR for Theo Ubique and most recently, his role as the Leading Player in Mercury Theater’s production of PIPPIN. Johnson has also performed as an actor with Pride Films and Plays, in productions including UNDER A RAINBOW FLAG.
