On Tuesday, June 15th at approximately 3:20PM, a bank robbery was reported at Fifth Third Bank, located at 8007 Calumet Avenue, Munster.
The suspect was described as wearing a white “hazmat” type suit, blue hard hat, and goggles. The suspect approached and presented a teller with a note while demanding US currency and inferring that he had a weapon. The suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of US currency.

After a thorough investigation and with the assistance of both the Michigan City Police Department and the Winfield Town Marshal, our police department was able to present charges to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office against two suspects, both of which were charged with two counts of alleged robbery and one count of alleged conspiracy to commit robbery.
These two individuals are both suspected in other robberies in Michigan City and Winfield.
One suspect is in custody at the Lake County Jail and the other suspect is still at large
