The Chesterton Art Center will be featuring the watercolors of Mark Anderson of Hammond in both galleries during the month of July. The show called “Pictures in Watercolor” will begin on Saturday, July 3 with an opening reception starting at 2 pm and ending at 6 pm.
Mark has been an illustrator for over 25 years whose work has appeared in Time, The New Yorker, National Geographic, Newsweek, Outside Magazine, Chicago Tribune and many other periodicals. “I have illustrated and designed over twenty books for Triumph Publishing and have illustrated the country’s longest running illustrated advertising campaign for Allstate Insurance,” says this multi-talented artist. Mark is an accomplished watercolor painter, and it is his works in watercolor that will be featured in this show. Mark’s love of the dunes is evident, and his portrayal of them is unique, using vibrant color and the freshness of a swift brush. The work will remain up through July 31. The Chesterton Art Center is located at 115 S. 4th Street in Chesterton. Call 219-926-4711 for more information.
