
Chicago Fire FC heads to Florida this week to play two matches in four days, kicking off a six-game road trip. The Fire will face Inter Miami CF on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m. CT on WGN-TV, CFFC Live and Latino Mix 93.5. Following the match against Miami, the team will head north to face Orlando City SC on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 7:00 p.m. CT on WGN-TV, CFFC Live and TUDN 1200AM.
On Saturday night, at 6:30 p.m. CT, WGN-TV will exclusively air “Make No Little Plans: Chicago Fire FC Midseason Special.” The all-access show will chronicle the Club’s first half of the season and the many storylines surrounding the team as it embarks on its longest road trip of the year. The show will deliver unprecedented access to Chicago Fire FC and include player profiles and interviews, as well as preview the latter half of season.
Chicago (5-9-5, 20 points) concluded a three-game home stretch with a 1-0 win against the Columbus Crew on Sunday, Aug. 15. Luka Stojanović scored his team-leading sixth goal in the 77th minute, and with the win, the Fire are unbeaten in its last four matches (2-0-2 since August 1). Additionally, Chicago has picked up the third-most points (15) in the league since July 3 and is now just six points below the playoff line with 15 regular season games remaining.
Wednesday will mark the second time ever that the team will face Inter Miami (4-9-4, 16 points), after hosting the team on May 22. A goal from Stojanović in the 69th minute secured the Fire a 1-0 victory at Soldier Field. Miami is coming off a stretch of two wins and a draw in its previous three home matches.
On Saturday, the Fire will face Orlando (8-4-6, 30 points) for the second time this season, after defeating the Lions 3-1 on July 7 at Soldier Field. Andrés Perea opened the scoring in the 34th minute, but the Fire came back with goals from Boris Sekulić, Robert Berić and Chinonso Offor to earn three points at home.
