Chimera Ensemble is proud to present the Chicago Premiere of How to Live on Earth, written by award-winning playwright MJ Kaufman, and directed by Gwendolyn Wiegold. Prop Thtr is pleased to announce casting for its world premiere of 2 UNFORTUNATE 2 TRAVEL, a late-night, cabaret-style evening of multi-disciplinary live performances and a biting look at privilege and the things we take for granted. This new devised adaptation of Thomas Nashe’s novella The Unfortunate Traveller is adapted and directed by Zach Weinberg and devised by The Ensemble.

TimeLine Theatre Company is pleased to announce that it has completed the purchase of property located at
5033–5035 North Broadway Avenue in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. The property, which encompasses a five-story, 45,120-square-foot warehouse building plus a vacant lot near the corner of Broadway and Argyle, is planned as the site of a renovated facility to house the theatre’s future operations and to support and expand its mission of presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today’s social and political issues.

Pride Films and Plays announces cast for SOUTHERN COMFORT

Full casting has been announced for Pride Films and Plays’ production of SOUTHERN COMFORT. The musical will open to the press on March 4, 2019 in the Broadway theater of the Pride Arts Center and play through March 31.

December 20, 2018—Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces today that the Theater will stage the critically acclaimed new musical SIX, written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, following its debut in the United Kingdom and celebrated West End run. The six wives of King Henry VIII join forces for an electrifying musical celebration of empowerment—shining a spotlight on women who are so much more than the history books might have us believe. Directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage, the Chicago Shakespeare production will be presented in The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare, May 14–June 30, 2019.

Reimagined through the eyes of the new generation of Steppenwolf artists, the 2019 production of True West features ensemble members Jon Michael Hill and Namir Smallwood. True West runs July 5 – August 18, 2019 in the Downstairs Theatre.
