Until then, all performances at Pride Arts have been cancelled.
This unfortunate turn of events has left us vulnerable. With no shows running it will still costs nearly $10,000 a month to pay rent and keep the lights on.
As a result, we are beginning a campaign to raise $20,000 by May 1 to make up for revenue we would have received in ticket sales during that period. Donations of any amount will help us make it through these tough times. For anyone who already purchased tickets to an upcoming performance, we ask instead of a refund, to please donate the cost to the organization.
We are optimistic and have every intention that the remaining productions of the season will open later this spring/summer. Our upcoming shows include a world premiere comedy THE QUEEN’S FOOL, the American premiere drama THE PASS, and the Chicago premiere of Pig Iron Theater’s queer journey through the universe I PROMISED MYSELF TO LIVE FASTER will - with your help - meet the entertaining and enlightening standards that are our trademark.
Thank you for being a friend of Pride Arts, especially in these challenging times. Your support is valued now more than ever. Please stay healthy and safe.
Sincerely,
David Zak
