We make this decision with heavy but protective hearts for our artists, our staff and our audiences. We share this announcement following the thrill of overflowing houses with the success of Bug, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter and Plano—all of which had stand-by lists as recently as this past weekend. There is nothing more gratifying to a theatre company than to have the community lined up, literally, to see your work.
Thus, it is with great sorrow, but much anticipation, that we look forward to returning our artists to our stages and inviting you back to our theatre so we may navigate the complexities of today—and they surely are greater than ever—together. We will be reaching out to ticket holders of these respective productions to exchange or credit their tickets appropriately.
We realize these are uncertain times for all of us—and your consideration of transferring your ticket to a donation sustains Steppenwolf in a particularly difficult time for the arts community. We sincerely appreciate your consideration.
