Rosemont’s Parkway Bank Park entertainment district (5501 Park Place) is thrilled to introduce “Rosetoberfest,” a brand-new fall celebration taking place Saturday, September 27. The inaugural event will begin with the Rosetoberfest 5K Run/Walk at 10 a.m., followed by an afternoon of lively Oktoberfest-inspired festivities from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the park’s great lawn.
The Rosetoberfest 5K, hosted by the Village of Rosemont and Salute, Inc., will begin and end at Parkway Bank Park. Advance registration is required and starts at $32, with all proceeds supporting Salute, Inc.’s mission to assist military service members, veterans and their families. Participants are encouraged to run, walk or cheer on racers during the morning event.
Following the run/walk, guests can raise a stein and experience the festive spirit of Rosetoberfest, featuring live music by Paloma, traditional German dance performances by the Society of Danube Swabians Youth Group and the Chicago Donauschwaben Adult Dance Groups, and a variety of fun activities such as stein holding and arm-wrestling competitions. Admission to the afternoon celebration is free.
Throughout the event, Parkway Bank Park’s restaurants will be offering creative twists on German cuisine along with their signature favorites, served from outdoor food and beverage tents.
“Rosetoberfest is a wonderful new addition to Parkway Bank Park’s calendar of events,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “We’re proud to kick off the day with a 5K that supports our nation’s heroes, and we invite everyone to come out, celebrate the season and enjoy this exciting new tradition in Rosemont.”
Parking for Rosetoberfest is available at the Parkway Bank Park parking garage and is free with validation from any of the park’s venues. For more information and to register for the Rosetoberfest 5K, visit ParkwayBankPark.com.
