The unveiling revealed the prototype of the four-foot, 50 lb., fiberglass owl sculpture.
The project’s goal is to bring awareness of Humane Indiana to the community and benefit the animals at Humane Indiana.
“This is an opportunity to sponsor your business or organization in a unique and creative way. Consequently they support artists, animal welfare and wildlife education,” said Pat Popa, owner of Popa Heating & Cooling in Highland. Popa has partnered with Humane Indiana and is leading the design and production process of the fiberglass owl sculptures.
Schools, organizations, business, and residents are invited to participate in the project by purchasing or sponsoring an owl. Then, sponsors choose from a pool of local artists to tout their creativity on the sculpture.
Finally, the decorated owls will be displayed throughout Lake and Porter Counties from July 15 through October 15. Maps will be provided to show the painted owls locations.
