Oktoberfest at Hofbrauhaus Chicago

  1. Home

Sat, 10/17/2020 - 2:09pm by laughingcat

Oktoberfest has returned to Hofbräuhaus Chicago now through October 31. Known as one of the most authentic celebrations in the area, guests can enjoy a variety of festivities including live Bavarian entertainment, freshly brewed “Oktoberfestbier” inspired by the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, and Oktoberfest food specials served by Dirndl-clad waitresses.

Hofbräuhaus Chicago is committed to keeping its guests and staff safe. The restaurant has implemented several new health and sanitation practices for both indoor and outdoor dining including, but not limited to socially distant tables, upgraded sanitation procedures and health checks for all guests employees upon entry to the building. Staff will wear face masks at all times and guests are asked to only remove face masks while seated at the table and not interacting with staff.

Since 1810, Bavarians have gathered once again to celebrate Oktoberfest, an annual festival that began with the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese and grew to become a worldwide celebration of German tradition. Hofbräuhaus Chicago’s 2020 Oktoberfest celebration includes live entertainment from the Zicke Zacke Party Band Thursday through Sunday nights starting at 5 p.m.

Along with enjoying the live entertainment, Oktoberfest guests can also feast upon several new food specials such as Bavarian half chickens, sauerbraten, käespätzle, and peach walnut strusel.

To pair with its menu of flavorful Oktoberfest food specials, Hofbräuhaus Chicago is once again serving its seasonal Oktoberfestbier while supplies last. This special beer is brewed at Hofbräuhaus Chicago’s onsite microbrewery in Rosemont using the same method used for centuries at the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany. Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the only location outside of Munich that brews Oktoberfestbier onsite. The brewing of all beers is led by a brewmaster who is trained in the 400-year-old recipes and techniques needed to produce Hofbräuhaus Chicago’s beer.

Hofbräuhaus Chicago’s Oktoberfest runs through October 31 and will be open the following hours:

  • Sundays-Thursdays: 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.
  • Fridays: 12 p.m. - 12 a.m.
  • Saturdays: 12 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Hofbräuhaus Chicago is located at 5500 Park Place in Rosemont’s Parkway Bank Park. Valet parking is available for a minimal charge, and parking is also available in the nearby parking garage (free with validation). An on-site gift store is filled with unique gift items, apparel and traditional beer steins. Reservations are available. For more information, call (847) 671-BREW (2739) or visit hbchicago.com.
