South Shore tourism is turning up the friendly rivalry with a fun challenge tied to Monday Night Football. Following the Chicago Bears’ Saturday night win over the Green Bay Packers, the South Shore Convention & Visitors Authority (SSCVA) is challenging Bears coach Ben Johnson to give a shoutout to Indiana Bears fans during his speech to the team.
If Coach Johnson mentions the Indiana fan base, South Shore tourism will celebrate in a big way: every Indiana fan who shows up to Byway Brewing in Hammond, Indiana for Monday Night Football will receive a free order of wings.
The promotion highlights the strong and passionate Bears fan base in Northwest Indiana and encourages fans to gather, cheer, and celebrate local businesses along the South Shore.
“We know Bears fans run deep in Indiana, and we’re proud of that,” said Phil Taillon, SSCVA President/CEO. “This challenge is all about having fun, showing off our Hoosier pride, and giving fans another great reason to come together at one of our fantastic local spots.”

“Our place is all about community, good beer, and great food — especially wings,” said Phil Sajn of Byway Brewing. “If Coach Johnson gives Indiana fans a shoutout, we’re ready to reward them. We can’t wait to pack the house Monday night!”
Fans are encouraged to follow us on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook for updates on the challenge and confirmation if the shoutout — and free wings — become official.
