During the Munster Town Council Meeting on January 5th, four new members of the Munster Police Department were sworn-in by Munster Clerk-Treasurer Wendy Mis in the presence of Munster Police Chief Steve Scheckel, other police administrators, and Munster Town Councilors.
These new officers included Matthew Abercrombie, Noah Fallon, Brett Malmquist, and Henry Nelson.

All four officers will be starting their training at the Northwest Indiana Law Enforcement Academy starting this month which lasts approximately four months, followed by several months of additional training with our field training officers before being released to work on their own. The Munster Police Department’s roster currently stands at an all-time high of 47 officers.

Congratulations to each of our new officers! We wish each of them great and safe careers with the Munster Police Department.
