
McAninch Arts Center (MAC), located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage, is proud to join Arts DuPage this October to celebrate Arts DuPage Month, which coincides with National Arts Month. The MAC is also offering a $5 discount off select shows with discount code ARTSDP, plus some exclusive free programming created for the month.

New Philharmonic, under the baton of Maestro Muspratt, is joined by three acclaimed soloists and the 80-voice Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus, directed by Thomas McNichols, to perform “Carmina Burana,” a powerful cantata based on 24 poems written by medieval monks, celebrating dancing, drinking, and other worldly pleasures. Orff’s score is at times powerful, mysterious; especially the famous chorus “O Fortuna,” which reminds us that fate will always have her say. Borodin’s captivating melodies and energetic rhythms in “Polovtsian Dances” blend Russian folk elements to capture the grandeur and drama inherent in the music.

This Tony award winning classic delves into the Salem witch trials of 1692. Rumors have swept through a Puritan town in New England that women are practicing witchcraft. A trial progresses and the town is engulfed by fear as neighbors testify against neighbors, creating a distorted sense of justice. This gripping parable of power and its abuse explores the slippery slope of mass hysteria. This play, directed by Daniel Millhouse , takes place in the MAC’s Playhouse Theatre and contains adult themes and language.
