Keep up with your favorite classes and check out the new additions to our schedule below. Additional workshops will be added regularly, so keep checking back! 

NEW VIRTUAL HOME

We're excited to announce our new website for Virtual Dance Lab! In order to streamline class registrations, we moved to a different platform, and Virtual Dance Lab now lives HERE. Once you have registered, you will receive two emails containing your Zoom class link and your receipt. If you need help checking out, follow this 3 step guide.

Classes and Workshops

Laban Movement Analysis

Kristina Fluty

Four Part Workshop Series

Movers will learn to use some of the basic elements of Laban Movement Analysis to establish clarity of language in the practice of choreographing intimate movement and scenes. 

 

BeMoved®

BeMoved® is a dance experience designed to inspire anyone from first-time dancers to professionals to embrace dance as a lifelong means to health, joy, and fulfillment.  \

 

Beginner Modern

Meghann Wilkinson

Weekly Class
Mondays 11:00-12:00PM CT

Explore modern dance basics through floor and standing exercises followed by simple dance combinations that can be adapted for any room in your house! Beginning levels recommended.

 

Ballet Technique

Erica Edwards

Weekly Class
Tuesdays 7:00-8:30PM CT
*Maan Almodovar teaches 9/29, 10/6, 10/13

Class will begin with a full barre and transition to center work focusing on weight shifting, alignment, spiraling, elongating, expression and gratitude.

 

Open Yoga 

A. Raheim White

Fri 9:00-10:00AM CT

Raheim’s class will be an amazing opportunity to learn some yoga basics, pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation focusing on and maintaining an active, holistic practice.  This class is suited for all levels.

 

Contemporary

Kara Brody 

Weekly Class
Wednesdays 12:00-1:00PM CT

Kara's class investigates a variety of movement sequences that explores efficiency in momentum and off-centeredness. We'll research ways of how to achieve and maintain a sense of ease to physically demanding material. Int/Adv level recommended.

 

Open Level Jazz

Joshua Blake Carter 

Weekly Class
Wednesdays 5:30-6:30PM CT

Find your foundation with a classic jazz warm-up, rooted in the Giordano Technique and sprinkled with my personal style. This class is great for beginners in all stages of their training, and a great way to sweat your way into the weekend!

 

 

Hip Hop Fundamentals

David Ingram

Wednesdays 7:00-8:00PM CT

This class will focus on the foundational vocabulary and core techniques that are seen across a variety of hip-hop dance styles. Participants will learn skills in a way that is adaptive to alternative spaces, which is consistent with the historical and ongoing practice of Hip-Hop forms. 

 

Flying Low 

Michel Rodriguez Cintra

Weekly Class
Thursdays 1:00-2:00PM CT

Drawing from modern dance lineages and David Zambrano’s Flying Low technique, Michel focuses on the floor as an extension of the body, supporting students to be grounded and centered as a means of gaining buoyancy.

 

Open Level Hip Hop

Karielle Williams

Weekly Class
Thursdays 7:00-8:00PM CT

Karielle Williams will take on commercial hip hop from the basics with hints of contemporary inspirations. This class will focus on technique, energy, and moving with intention. Expect a good warm-up, a fun combo, and cool down! This class is open to all levels. 

West African Dance 

Ayodele Drum & Dance

Friday evenings

Experience an energizing hour of West African dance technique, history and culture for dancers of all levels and ages. Let the drum rhythms take you away as you move your body, work your mind, and feed your soul!

 

Cuban Salsa Fusion 

Michel Rodriguez Cintra

Salsa is the evolution of Afro-Cuban dances and music and it is still continuously evolving. It has been danced socially for decades and it is still very much alive in Cuba. In the class we will touch on different social dances that came before salsa.
