Thanks to grants such as this, scholarships help eliminate financial barriers for children and adults who wish to participate in LCA classes, workshops and camps. Studies show that engaging with the arts reduces stress and increases motivation, among many other benefits!

The arts challenge us with different points of view, compel us to empathize with others, and give us the opportunity to reflect on our human condition. This funding provides access to high-quality art education that builds skills and creativity, which we need now more than ever.

LCA offers three major exhibitions per year, plus additional shows in our NIPSCO Art Education Studios. Recent exhibitions have featured artwork by internationally known artists like Andy Warhol and the Chicago Imagists as well as by emerging artists creating exciting, relevant artwork.

Thanks to the generosity of grants such as this, we are able to remain free and open to all, six days per week. Janet Bloch, Executive Director, states "In recent years, LCA has had the opportunity to bring in outstanding artists and art from around the country. It is support such as this from Unity that assures we can continue to provide these outstanding, high-quality arts experiences right here in Michigan City. This benefits our local residents and is a great economic development opportunity, attracting visitors that want to experience great art while here for work or play."

Lubeznik Center appreciates the support of Unity Foundation and their mission to strengthen La Porte County, now and forever.

To see the current exhibit, Fake Real, visit LCA weekdays from 10 AM – 5 PM (closed Tuesdays) and weekends from 11 AM – 4 PM. To schedule a small group tour for six to twenty guests please contact jbloch@lubeznikcenter.org.
