Need to Know:
Homebound Service Beta Testers Needed!
We're working on a new delivery service to bring library materials to those who are homebound. To make sure the service is the best it can be, we'd love some help from our community!
We're looking for folks who meet all of the following criteria:
- Over the age of 18
- Homebound
- Have an LCPL card
- Live in our library district
All you'll have to do is try out the service by requesting and returning items, then let us know how it goes. This will help us figure out things like scheduling, how long to allow for transit, and how much the program will cost the library.
To volunteer:
Email director@lcplin.org with your name, phone number, and preferred contact method (email or phone call). We'll be in touch after that with an application to get a few more details.
Space is EXTREMELY limited in this beta testing phase. If you volunteer but the program is already full, we'll add your name to a list to be contacted for the wider roll-out!
Featured Program:
The LCPL Foundation's 24th Annual Literary Tea
Merrillville Branch | April 25, 1 PM
Enjoy a full afternoon tea with dessert, catered by The Gourmet Goddess.
This year's speaker, historian Valerie Gugala, will unravel the fascinating world of Victorian sentiments as she decodes for us the language of flowers, fans, gloves, and tea!
Tickets: $40. Your ticket purchase supports the LCPL Foundation, the primary sponsor of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in our district.
You may purchase your tickets at any branch. Please make checks payable to the Lake County Public Library Foundation.
For more information, please call 219-769-3541, ext. 315.
