Lake Station-New Chicago Events to Return in October

Lake Station-New Chicago Branch has officially reopened - and we're excited to be filling up our calendar of events once again!

Head to the calendar to see what's coming up. Don't miss LEGO® Night for Adults, the return of Mah Jongg open play, and more fall crafts and fun than you can shake a leaf at - plus all the other events you've been missing.

A big thank you to everyone for your patience and support while we worked on reopening the branch. We can't wait to see you back at the library!

From the Stacks:

A person holding the book in front of a painting of people reading under a fall tree. The book has branches with red and orange leaves against a pale blue sky, with a white van driving along one of the branches and a large white cat looking down from the opposite corner.

Staff Recommends: The Travelling Cat Chronicles

A beautifully told, moving story about a cat and his person.

You Asked, We Answered!

Ask a LibrarianQuestion: I have a bunch of old videotapes and have no idea what's on them. Is there some way I can view them at the library?

Answer: There is! You can book an appointment in the Libratory, our makerspace and digital conversion lab.

The Libratory has several VCRs with which you can review your tapes (both VHS and Betamax), and we can even convert those tapes to a convenient digital format.

Use of the Libratory is free to all full-access cardholders, so either email us at lab@lcplin.org or call us at 219-769-3541 ext. 354 to book your appointment today!
