Lafayette District – On Monday, troopers across the Indiana State Police Lafayette District conducted focused patrols on major roadways in an effort to identify and stop dangerous and aggressive drivers ahead of the busy Thanksgiving travel period. These patrols were conducted on Interstate 65, Interstate 74, U.S. 52, U.S. 41, State Road 25, and State Road 63.
Across the district, troopers issued 57 warnings and 47 citations. These numbers reflect a continued effort to reduce unsafe driving behaviors as traffic volumes increase during one of the heaviest travel periods of the year.
The Indiana State Police urges all motorists to travel responsibly, follow posted speed limits, avoid distractions, buckle up, and never drive impaired. Additional patrols will continue throughout the Thanksgiving travel period to help ensure Hoosiers reach their destinations safely.
