A Journeyman Tradition: President’s Day Not A King Release

Following his victory over the British, Washington was celebrated by the masses as the King of America. He famously responded by stating that he was "Not a King."

Handcrafted from grain to barrel to bottle with a mash bill of 60% rye and 40% corn, this limited release is an interpretation of Washington’s original rye whiskey recipe. Batch 5 takes drinkers back to the late 1700s with sweet spice and pepper reminiscent of the spirit America's original settlers would enjoy.

Hearty flavors of rye come through at the front letting you know you are drinking rye, followed by traces of freshly pruned mint leaves. Notes of brown sugar, caramel, and allspice compliment the rye spice with hints of dried stone fruits at the back end and finish. “Many of today’s whiskey drinkers are rediscovering rye—breathing new life into classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned and Manhattan” says founder and history buff, Bill Welter.

Hand-crafted from grain to barrel to bottle in Three Oaks, Michigan, the Certified Organic whiskey received a 5-star “Highest Recommendation” from F. Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal.

Take a step back in time with Not a King Rye, the perfect spirit for patriotic celebrations—on the rocks, neat, or in a cocktail like the one featured below.
