Late Sarratt Touchdown Lifts No. 11 Hoosiers to 20-15 Win Over Hawkeyes
A defensive slugfest between No. 11 Indiana and Iowa turned on one big offensive play Saturday afternoon in Iowa City
With 1:28 remaining and the game tied at 13, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza connected with Elijah Sarratt on a 49-yard touchdown pass to put the Hoosiers on top. From there, the Indiana defense came up big one final time, stopping the Hawkeyes on downs in the final 20 seconds to give Indiana the 20-15 victory.
Mendoza finished 13-of-23 for 233 yards and two scores. Sarratt was his favorite target, catching six balls for 132 yards and the decisive score.
The Hoosiers, now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten, have an off week before heading to Eugene, Ore., for a showdown with No. 6 Oregon. They'll return home on Oct. 18 for a match-up with Michigan State for Homecoming. The game is sold out, but fans can still explore secondary ticket market options such as SeatGeek below.
