A sluggish start gave way to a strong finish as No. 2 Indiana rolled to a 31-7 win over Wisconsin today at Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium. With the win, IU improved to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in the Big Ten and completed its second straight perfect season at home.
IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza connected with Charlie Becker for an IU touchdown on the Hoosiers’ opening drive of the game to give IU a quick 7-0 lead. But IU could only muster another field goal in the first half and led just 10-7 at half.
But from the start of the second half, IU took control. Mendoza connected on third-quarter touchdown throws to Holden Staes and Riley Nowakowski to give IU a 24-7 lead with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter. Mendoza added a fourth-quarter touchdown strike to Omar Cooper, Jr., for the Hoosiers final score.
Mendoza finished 22-of-24 for 299 yards and four touchdowns. Five of those completions went to Becker, who had his second straight 100-yard game. Defensively, IU limited the Badgers the 168 total yards and forced a pair of turnovers.
Barring a College Football Playoff home game, IU Football will next play at Merchants Bank Field at Memorial Stadium in 2026. Interested in 2026 IU Football season tickets? Provide your information below!
