A Dance with Chance: Plein Air Adventures

Dates: November 5th – December 6th

Artists’ Reception: Saturday, November 8th  *  12:00 – 2:00 pm

Chesterton Art Center is pleased to announce the return of the Duneland Plein Air Painters with a new group exhibition, “A Dance with Chance: Plein Air Adventures,” on display November 6–December 6, 2025. “A Dance with Chance” features plein air paintings by twenty-nine local artists who are part of the popular Duneland Plein Air Painters collective. The group meets regularly around the Duneland region to paint scenes directly from life. The exhibition features work from their year of painting sessions and showcases some of the most beautiful locales from across our region.

“This exhibit highlights some of the best talents of our creative community from a close-knit group of artists that work with and support one another. CAC is pleased to present the group’s works that offer new perspectives on the local beauty that surrounds us,” said Hannah Hammond-Hagman, CAC Executive Director.

Exhibiting artists include Dawn Duty, Bunny Dimke, Carleen O'Connor Rivera, Nancy Petruska, Kirsten Renehan, Linda Monahan, Deborah Stipanovich, Gail Woolever, Susan Hughes, Lorie Butler, Diana Plenys, Ginny Takacs, Laura Krentz, Nicole Willbur, Lynn Buckmaster, Kris Cook, Carolyn Lelek, Christine Newton, Dan Dillabaugh, Sharon Goodall, Sandy Appleby, Dina Heijselaar, Pat Herman, Claire Merrill, Julia Holmaas, Sandra Hass Yamhure, Kuhn Hong, Betty Thomas, and Melissa Dittmann.

An artists’ reception for “A Dance with Chance” will be held on Saturday, November 8, 12–2 PM. Light refreshments will be served. All exhibition events at CAC are free and open to the public. Please come meet the artists and join us in celebrating their beautiful artwork!
