During this year’s event, approximately 90 area children in need were taken shopping for toys and clothing with funds donated by local residents, businesses, and community organizations. Due to the number of generous contributions that we received this year, we were able to take more children than ever before.
The children were taken shopping by Munster Police officers, Munster fire fighters, Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), and Munster Police Explorers throughout the morning.

This year’s volunteers are pictured above.
We appreciate everyone who came out to help make the morning a memorable one for the children involved. We would also like to thank Target for hosting this year and for providing giveaway items to the participating families as they departed the store.
This event would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the generous donations that were provided by the Munster Mustangs Hockey Team, Target, Munster Junior Woman’s Club, Barbara Shaver-Attorney at Law, Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Hammond Pet Hospital, Munster-Highland Tri-Kappa, Burns Kish Funeral Homes, Kraz Constuction, Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant, the Munster Historical Society, and by many supportive area residents.
Thank you again to all of our volunteers and sponsors for helping to make the season brighter for many area families in need.
