All materials are included in the tuition and will be picked up from the Art Center once at the beginning of each month.  Classes are designed for preschool, elementary, home school, middle school, and high school ages.  Students of all ages will actively participate in learning, while studying one of the major movements of modern art history each month. All classes will include drawing throughout the month in some form.  Students will be exposed to a mix of mediums, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, drawing, weaving, paper arts, and more. The schedule of classes is as follows:

Preschoolers will need assistance from someone at home.  Families must be current members of the Chesterton Art Center to receive the member rate.  A bag stuffed with generous supplies is included in the tuition and will be picked up from the Art Center.  Any supplies left from the month are yours to keep!

January classes begin on January 4.  Students will be expressing themselves in acrylic paint on canvas this month, as well as working in some other mixed media pieces.  We will be discussing some concepts from the Expressionism movement.  Artists who contributed to the concept of Expressionism like

Paul Klee, Marc Franz, and Edvard Munch will be included as we focus on understanding and discussing these abstract art forms.

Students must register and pay before the first class. To register, stop in, call, or visit Eventbrite.com and search Chesterton Art Center.
