Bishop Noll band students Jackie Milkowski, of Hammond; Rebecca Carlos, of Hammond; Nyree Ruiz, of Hammond; Hanna Abuzead, of Hammond; Savannah Benitez, of Hammond; Abigail Wojtaszek, of Hammond; Gabrielle Merritt, of Schererville; and Carlos Guzman, of East Chicago; competed along 
with 400 other high school band students from around the state. Bishop Noll students landed gold, silver and bronze medals.
“It made me a better player by pushing myself to be the best I can be,” Merritt said.
The Bishop Noll Band is an honors band program and consists of 50 band members at the Catholic college preparatory high school in Hammond. The band performs throughout the Northwest Indiana community as both marching band and concert band. In addition, the band performs in parades in Downtown Chicago and completed a concert tour of New York City last year.
