Dear friend,
I am thrilled to share with you today plans for a major development in the Art Institute of Chicago’s campus evolution: the Grainger Center for Conservation and Science. Set to open in fall 2027, this will be the first comprehensive purpose-built conservation center in our museum’s history and is made possible by the exceptional generosity of the Grainger Foundation. The center’s state-of-the-art design and technology will match the world-class talents of our celebrated Conservation and Science team.

I invite you to learn more about this new conservation center in this article written by our vice president and Grainger Executive Director of Conservation and Science Francesca Casadio. And I look forward to sharing more about this exciting project as progress continues.
With appreciation and anticipation,
James Rondeau
