Chicago Children’s Choir (CCC), a nonprofit organization that inspires and unites youth from diverse backgrounds to become global ambassadors through music, presents the CCC Fireplace Special, a free virtual concert of the Choir's signature varied repertoire—from Macedonia to Mexico and Mozart to Mel Torme—on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. CST. The concert features performances from CCC’s Voice of Chicago, Dimension and Neighborhood Choir singers.

The CCC Fireplace Special will be livestreamed on CCC’s Facebook and YouTube. For more information, visit ccchoir.org.

Selections in the concert range from “This Little Light of Mine” and “The Christmas Song” to Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem mass, V'Shamru and a mash-up of “Magic” songs by Pilot and The Cars, showcasing the diversity and range of CCC’s young singers.

“With restrictions on holiday travel, now more than ever is a time to gather virtually with our families and celebrate what we’re grateful for. The Chicago Children’s Choir is thrilled to present this virtual concert to bring warmth to the holiday season and showcase what our incredible young singers have been working on from the safety of their homes these past few months,” said Josephine Lee, Chicago Children’s Choir President and Artistic Director.

About Chicago Children’s Choir

Founded in Hyde Park in direct response to the Civil Rights Movement in 1956, Chicago Children’s Choir (CCC) has grown from one choir into a vast network of in-school and after-school programs driven by one mission: to inspire and change lives through music. CCC has impacted the lives of more than 50,000 diverse youth throughout its 62-year history. Since its founding, CCC has focused on building programs that reflect the racial and economic diversity of Chicago. Eighty percent of youth served are from low-moderate income homes, with over 4,000 students annually participating completely free of charge. All singers in CCC programs receive some level of subsidy. High school seniors enrolled in CCC have a 100% graduation and college acceptance rate, becoming global ambassadors who carry on CCC’s core values in a wide array of professional fields. Learn more at ccchoir.org.
