
Trooper Corey Brown located a vehicle matching the description on I-65 southbound near the 174 mile marker. As the vehicle exited from I-65 to State Road 26, multiple traffic violations were observed and a traffic stop was initiated. Trooper Brown utilized a Tippecanoe County K-9 who alerted to the presence of a controlled substance inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and officers located a large quantity of pills, a white crystal substance, and marijuana. The driver was identified to be Tyler Redd, a 26-year-old male from Gary, IN. During the traffic stop, Trooper Corey Brown recognized Redd was showing obvious signs of impairment. Troopers conducted a roadside investigation for impairment, then transported Redd to a hospital for further investigation.
Redd was then taken into custody and transported to Tippecanoe County jail without further incident.
Redd is preliminarily facing the following charges:
- Trafficking with an Inmate – Level 5 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine - Level 6 Felony
- Operating While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction - Level 6 Felony
- Possession of a Controlled Substance - Class A Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia – Class A misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana - Class B Misdemeanor
- Operating a Vehicle with a Controlled Substance in the Body - Class C Misdemeanor

All persons named in this release are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court. All charges mentioned are merely accusations, actual charges will be determined by the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office.
