The IUAA Lakeshore Region Chapter provides $6,500 in scholarship awards to deserving Northwest Indiana area students annually. Funds donated exceeding that amount will go to continuing these scholarships into the future.
Since Lakeshore Region Chapter’s inaugural scholarship year of 2006 and through the academic year of 2019 the Lakeshore Chapter has made 82 scholarship awards to Northwest Indiana area students attending IU Bloomington, Northwest, and IUPUI campuses. Our annual scholarship lessens the financial burden for our students. Lakeshore scholarships are often used to purchase textbooks and offset the costs of total college expenses.

It is because of the support and generosity of the IU community of Northwest Indiana that IUAA Lakeshore Region Chapter has built a foundation of scholarship award history. Lakeshore Region Chapter is working to sustain and elevate our scholarship opportunities by growing our scholarship fund. Our goal, through the continued support of our local IU community, is to leave a legacy for generations to come.
The IUAA is more than 690,000 strong. We are so proud of our IU alumni family and its ability to recognize the value and importance of an Indiana University education. Throughout the years, the IUAA and its groups have awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to tens of thousands of IU students. In the 2019 Fiscal Year the alumni-chartered communities supported scholarships totaling more than $171,000 for over 140 students.
