The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected artists, arts organizations and arts providers all over the globe. As the situation continues to evolve in Indiana, the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) is closely monitoring how it impacts not only our grantees and partners, but the entire arts and culture ecosystem.

The safety and health of our patrons, staff and theatrical companies is our top priority.  In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) here is an update of the shows that are canceled or are rescheduled:

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, PlayMakers Laboratory has announced it will postpone its annual benefit Fancy Schmancy: A Gala of Living Art, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Wintrust’s Grand Banking Hall, 231 S. LaSalle St. in Chicago.

As you are aware, public health guidance and recommendations have advanced and changed rapidly over the course of the past ten days. Based upon the recent guidance from the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago, Teatro Vista is postponing our production of The Dream King originally scheduled to perform in April and May.

People with pre-existing conditions and people over the age of 60 are vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus. Many are unable to leave their home or do not have transportation available to go to the store. To meet their needs, North Township Trustee Frank J. Mrvan has partnered with Catholic Charities to transport pre-packaged groceries to the homes of the disabled and elderly.
