The Facebook Journalism Project (FJP) recently awarded a Community Network grant to Gary communications company Fluid Communications to support coronavirus reporting. The focus of the grant is to help provide residents, who have limited or no access to digital technology, an opportunity to retrieve COVID-19 updates and community news.

The Transportation Security Administration is preparing a very different travel season given the evolving COVID-19 pandemic. TSA has implemented changes to the security screening process that reduce the potential for cross-contamination at the security checkpoint in an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. In response to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus), Broadway In Chicago announced today that the upcoming engagement of Disney's FROZEN, originally scheduled to run October 21, 2020 – January 3, 2021, at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, will now run November 18, 2021 – January 23, 2022.
Black Women's Expo (BWe) founder Merry Green and her team held on to hope that the country's largest and longest running exposition targeting African American women would take place on the rescheduled dates this August. An email from McCormick Place reps late last week dashed those hopes. The correspondence indicated that out of an abundance of caution and in order to counteract the spread of COVID-19, the State of Illinois has cancelled all events at the venue through the month of August.
