
On July 11, 2025, just before 12:30 p.m., Trooper Thomen was patrolling the area of US 41 near County Road 300 North. Trooper Thomen stopped a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox for speeding.
While speaking with the driver, Trooper Thomen smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The passenger was identified as Mecka Pierce, 49, from Chicago, IL. During a subsequent vehicle search, officers on scene located suspected cocaine inside a bag believed to belong to Pierce. Pierce was taken into custody and transported to the Warren County Jail.
Officers also located what appeared to be a glass pipe containing suspected burnt marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding, then released from the scene.
The preliminary weight of the suspected cocaine was over 30 grams. The substance will be sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for an exact determination of weight and composition.

- Dealing Cocaine – Level 2 Felony
- Possession of Cocaine – Level 3 Felony
Trooper Thomen was assisted at the scene by other troopers from the Lafayette Post and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
