Daddy Long Legs is a heartwarming Cinderella story about a witty and winsome young woman and her mysterious benefactor, based on the treasured novel that inspired the classic 1955 film. Daddy Long Legs is a beloved tale in the spirit of Jane Austen, The Brontë Sisters and “Downton Abbey.” Daddy Long Legs features music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated composer/lyricist, Paul Gordon (Jane Eyre), and Tony-winning librettist/director, John Caird (Les Misérables), and is a “rags-to-riches” tale of newfound love.
The production stars Isabella Andrews (Northbrook, IL) as Jerusha Abbott and Adam Moxness (Elgin, IL) as Jervis Pendleton. The show is under the direction of Jeff Casey and musical direction of Elizabeth Tuazon. Accompanying the performers is Elizabeth Tuazon on the piano, Steven Moeller on guitar and Aaron Zemelko on cello. Daddy Long Legs is sponsored in part by First Merchants Bank and the 2021 Season is sponsored by Leon Dombrowski and Seda Turan and Accucraft Imaging.
Daddy Long Legs was originally scheduled for May 2020 but had to be cancelled. The cast members and staff reconvened in December with hopes to present the production to a live audience to kick off their 2021 Season. With that not possible, the next best option is a virtual production.
