The Lake County Public Library Foundation recognized first-place winners of the annual Read-a-Thon this year at the Merrillville Branch of the Lake County Public Library.  The winners had their picture taken by the statue "The Reader" and received a 20 inch trophy and a $75 gift card to Target.

This year's Read-a-Thon had 220 participants and they raised over $27,000.  Usually the Foundation donates one-third of the money raised back to the schools, but this year the Foundation chose to donate the remaining profits back to the schools. This was done in appreciation for all that the schools have done during these challenging times.
