
The NEXUS 2.5 season kicks off on September 12th at 6:30 PM Central Time with a partnership with the Boston based, Groupmuse. Titled an “A-Musing Opening Night” tickets for the livestream virtual event are $10.00, and are available only through Groupmuse. The program features violinists Brian Hong, and Rannveig Marta Sarc, and cellist Alexander Hersh in rarely heard old works of Viotti and Corelli alongside new music of Augusta Read Thomas and Texu Kim, and closing with Zoltan Kodaly’s late-romantic masterpiece, the Op. 7 Duo for Violin and Cello.
September 13th at 6:30 PM Central Time the 2.5 virtual festival continues with a broadcast entitled: “Breaking New Grounds” Featuring Violinists Brian Hong, Alexi Kenney, and Siwoo Kim, violist Tanner Menees, and cellists Brannon Cho and Alexander Hersh. The evening will include music of Giovanni Sollima, Jean Barrière, Prokofiev and Boccherini, as well as staff spotlights of Guarneri Hall’s audio engineer Christopher Willis, Creative Director Mike Grittani, and Artistic Director Stefan Hersh.
September 14th at 6:30 PM Central Time the 2.5 broadcast is entitled “Recalling the Birds,” which will include brand new interviews with the artists. The program features violinists Brian Hong, Alexi Kenney and Gabriela Lara, violist Zoë Martin-Doike, cellist Alexander Hersh, and pianist Victor Asuncion in music of Haydn, Toru Takemitsu, Olivier Messiaen and Schumann.
September 15th at 6:30 PM Central Time the 2.5 Festival continues with a broadcast entitled “Transitions,” Featuring violinists Brian Hong, and Rannveig Marta Sarc, cellist Alexander Hersh, and pianist Xiaohui Yang playing music of Giovanni Battista Viotti and Beethoven and airing an Artist Spotlight featuring NEXUS artist Rannveig Marta Sarc and Co-Artistic Director Brian Hong.
September 16th at 6:30 PM the 2.5 festival will air its final broadcast entitled “Luminescence” Featuring prizewinning cellist Brannon Cho in a premier of a brand-new video of Benjamin Britten’s iconic Cello Suite #1 Op. 72, and including an artist spotlight with Brannon Cho
