New Archaeology Handout – The Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology (DHPA) is happy to announce a new addition to our archaeology handouts!  This latest document was written by Research Archaeologist Rachel Sharkey and focuses on the 2021 Indiana Archaeology Month theme –  Archaeology and the Production of Hoosier Spirits.

Find out what you can learn from old bottles, which modern day distilleries and breweries are embracing heritage Hoosier spirits, and how this movement is fostering a sense of local pride in our state. This document will shortly join the DHPA’s other archaeology handouts on our Publications webpage.

Be sure to also check out the upcoming events being held in honor of Archaeology Month https://www.in.gov/dnr/historic-preservation/
