The Indiana State Police is pleased to announce that Lieutenant Jerry Holeman has been honored with the prestigious Crimefighter of the Year award at the 2025 CLUE Awards, held during CrimeCon 2025 in Denver. The award was presented on Saturday evening, September 6, 2025, at the CLUE Awards banquet, hosted at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado—all part of CrimeCon’s flagship weekend.
Presented by CrimeCon organizers, the CLUE Awards recognize exceptional contributions to criminal investigation, victim advocacy, and excellence in the criminal justice system. This year’s honor was jointly awarded to Lt. Holeman, the families of Liberty German and Abigail Williams, and Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland, in recognition of their outstanding leadership and dedication in the high-profile Delphi Double Homicide Case.
The award was presented by John Walsh, longtime victims’ advocate and host of America’s Most Wanted, whose own career has been devoted to advancing justice and amplifying the voices of crime victims and their families. His presentation underscored the national importance of the case and the dedication of those honored.
This recognition underscores the Indiana State Police’s commitment to justice in even the most challenging cases. Lt. Holeman’s investigative leadership, alongside Prosecutor McLeland’s prosecutorial efforts, exemplifies perseverance, professionalism, and integrity—hallmarks of the agency’s mission to serve Indiana communities with honor and compassion.
The award announcement occurred during the ceremony’s opening segment, where CrimeCon organizers emphasized the critical collaboration between law enforcement, the courts, and victim families. According to official communications, the award went to “the families of Liberty German & Abigail Williams, along with Lt. Jerry Holeman (Indiana State Police) and Nicholas McLeland (Carroll County Prosecutor).”
