First Things First Porter County (FTF) has promoted Laura Green to Training and Technical Assistance Specialist.
Laura began her tenure at FTF in 2022 as Outreach Coordinator, the first employee to join the team alongside Founding Executive Director Mary Jane Eisenhauer. As Outreach Coordinator, she quickly amplified the FTF presence in Porter County by convening community partners and service providers.
With prior professional background as a developmental therapist, Laura Green holds a B.S. in Eary Intervention from Purdue University. After serving families and children birth-age three in their homes for ten years, she transitioned to supporting fellow service providers and Porter County families with First Things First.
Since joining First Things First, Laura has most notably introduced the Talking is Teaching public awareness campaign, which can be seen in local parks, grocery stores, libraries, and businesses. In addition, she has led the Books, Blocks, Balls team—guiding their best practices and materials for open play groups at all libraries in Porter County and has been first-to-respond when a local organization is looking for tips on engaging young families.
“Since the launch of FTF, the needs of our Early Learning Collaborative have shifted from needing introductions and connections to tailored insight and tools. I am eager to focus on the work I do in supporting them through this positive growth,” remarks Laura.
As Training and Technical Assistance Specialist, Laura will act as the FTF subject matter expert for early childhood development, best-poised to support community partners in their efforts to strengthen the lives of young children. From offering tangible resources, training and certification opportunities, and specialized knowledge, this new role meets the growing need for customized assistance to Porter County providers.
First Things First Porter County looks forward to watching Laura’s deep knowledge and passion for very young children better empower service providers and community partners to strengthen the prenatal-age three ecosystem of care in Porter County. You can learn more about Laura here.
