
Play-by-play commentator Tyler Terens and color analyst and U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Tony Meola will call the match on WGN-TV and ESPN+. Univision play-by-play veteran Hector Lozano and color analyst Raquel Ortiz will call the match on 105.1 WOJO-HD2.
Thursday’s contest will mark the Fire’s first MLS match since competing in the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Fla in July. Chicago enters Thursday’s game against Crew SC with a 1-3-1 regular season record, which includes the team’s results from the group stage of the tournament.
The match on Thursday will mark the 67th meeting between the Fire and Columbus dating back to 1998. Chicago currently leads the head-to-head regular season series with a 26-19-21 record. The most recent Fire-Crew SC matchup at MAPFRE Stadium occurred on Aug. 31, 2019 and resulted in a dramatic finish. With the Fire down 1-0, midfielder Przemysław Frankowski salvaged a point for the team when he scored the game-tying goal in the 94th minute.
Crew SC (4-0-1) currently sits in first place in the Eastern Conference standings. After recording three consecutive clean sheet wins in the MLS is Back Tournament group stage, Columbus was eliminated from the competition after falling 1(3)-1(5) on penalty kicks to Minnesota United FC in the Round of 16.
