The Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus (CGMC) will launch its 42nd Season with A Swiftie Cabaret, featuring 30 members of the chorus performing the music of Taylor Swift. Performances run Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 at 7pm and 9pm each evening in the Hoover-Leppen Theatre at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60613.
The cabaret will highlight Swift’s music through the voices and stories of CGMC singers, blending her songwriting with the chorus’s unique approach to performance. Prepare to be enchanted by hits like “Anti-Hero,” “Blank Space” and “Shake it Off.” The cast is going to be absolutely fearless as they aim their songs directly at your heart.

“This show gives our members a chance to share Taylor’s music in ways that reflect their own experiences, while inviting audiences to see her songs through a new lens,” said CGMC’s Managing Director Kevin Corbett.
James Morehead, Artistic Director of CGMC, added, “Taylor Swift writes with honesty that speaks to so many people. Our goal is to put that honesty on stage with arrangements that highlight both her words and the personalities of our performers.”
There are several ways to enjoy A Swiftie Cabaret, whether it’s a reserved seat or an Ultra VIP ticket! A limited number of VIP tickets will be available prior to the 7pm shows each evening. VIP guests will enjoy food, drinks, and access to a private lounge before heading into the cabaret. Tickets are available at cgmc.org/cabaret.
Now in its 42nd Season, CGMC continues to build on its role as one of Chicago’s longest-running LGBTQIA+ arts organizations, creating space for both music and community.

ABOUT CHICAGO GAY MEN’S CHORUS
The Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus (CGMC) has been an integral part of Chicago’s cultural and gay communities since 1983. For more than three decades, the chorus has entertained audiences across the continent with innovative musical programming exploring everything from love to politics to the sometimes fabulous, sometimes challenging world of being gay; often all at the same time. Our always-memorable performances have included original musical revues; full-length book musicals; traditional choral concerts and intimate cabaret presentations; all punctuated with our signature joyous irreverence. Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus was inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in 2001. Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs presented CGMC with the 2023 award for Outstanding Achievement in Arts and Humanities in honor of LGBTQIA+ history month in October 2023. The Chicago City Council passed a resolution celebrating CGMC’s 40th Anniversary in December 2023, and the Chorus was recognized by Mayor Brandon Johnson.
