Munster’s Choice Community Council was founded in 1994 and is a cooperative effort between the Munster Police Department and our residents against drugs, crime, gangs, and violence in our community. The program is open to any Munster resident who would like to help volunteer for or plan programs with those types of goals or directives.
The Choice Community Council is run through the police department and plans and funds programs and events each year such as National Night Out, Crime Watch, Dog Walker Watch, beatification projects, safety seminars, the annual Munster Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest, and more.
