The League of Chicago Theatres celebrates Black History Month in conjunction with Chicago Theatre Week 2025

On Friday, February 14th , the Indiana State Police Regional Dispatch Center at Lowell received reports of a reckless driver on I-65 that was traveling southbound from I-80/94. The vehicle was reported to have been driving from the left shoulder to the right shoulder at a high rate of speed, almost hitting several vehicles.

**** Recommended  Writers Theatre’s production of "Frida…A Self Portrait," is a stunning one-woman show written by and starring Vanessa Severo, directed by Joanie Schultz.  Frida Kahlo was a complex woman who lived large.  Kudos to Severo, I can’t even imagine how difficult the writing process must have been.  It was a truly fascinating performance.  4 Spotlights

I attended Forever Simon & Garfunkel: A Tribute sponsored by Lakeshore Community Concerts, at Highland High School Auditorium on January 27th.  The concert, featuring Sean Altman and Jack Skuller, was entertaining and fun.

**** Shattered Globe Theatre’s production of "Lobby Hero" is definitely one of my top three plays so far his year. I was so absorbed in the story I almost forgot it was a story! Somehow, an unassuming little play was transformed into a moving experience, and I think it’s the unexpected humor.  Add to that the outstanding performance by newcomer Elliot Esquivel and you get a gem!  Get a ticket now! 4 Spotlights

One glorious example of an artist who is clearly comfortable on any stage and having added yet another statistical feat (Donizetti's "The Three Queens") to an already impressive resume, Berwyn's very own favorite diva Sondra Radvanovsky returns to Lyric Opera of Chicago in a very limited engagement to perform, in concert with musical support from the Lyric orchestra, "The Puccini Heroines."  4 SPOTLIGHTS
