Chicago Fire FC (8-7-4, 28 points) wrapped up a three-game homestand with a 3-2 win over Charlotte FC (8-11-1, 25 points) Saturday night at Soldier Field.

The Schaumburg Boomers scored seven unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth to rally from down 5-1 and steal an 8-5 victory over the Washington Wild Things and gain a game of space in the standings on Saturday night at Wintrust Field.

Recommended  I’m not quite sure where Steppenwolf’s latest, "You Will Get Sick," fits on the quirkiness scale, but it must be close to the top. My friend and I walked out trying to figure out just what we’d seen.  We had questions, so many questions! No kidding, all the questions aside, "You Will Get Sick" is a very good play.  4 Spotlights

A tightly contested series finale went extras Thursday night, but the Kane County Cougars edged the Gary SouthShore RailCats 2-1 in 10 innings at the Steel Yard.
