This week and throughout the fall semester, the Munster Police Department will begin our 37TH YEAR of presenting the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program to our community’s students. Approximately 2,000 Munster students receive D.A.R.E. instruction each school year. The safety topics discussed and the number of weeks of instruction will depend on the grade level.

The Munster Police Department currently has three officers assigned to our local schools. Each of our officers work full-time as school resource officers throughout the school year and have been certified through the Indiana School Safety Specialist Academy and National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). Our school resource officers provide safety instruction, promote safety on our school campuses, and more.
